Comparison
You are not the only one. Here is an honest account of where the two differ, from someone who runs an accountancy firm and built the alternative to use in it.
GoProposal did something genuinely useful for this profession. It took proposals and engagement letters out of Word and made pricing something a firm could do consistently. A lot of practices, mine included, were better off for it.
It was acquired by Sage in 2021, and since then a familiar pattern has shown up in reviews and in the community: the price, and the sense that the founder-led feel went with the founders.
If that is roughly where you are, this page is for you.
Engagement letters are not an upgrade. AML and KYC are not an add-on. The three-option view is not a paid extra. There is one price for your plan and everything is in it.
That is a deliberate design decision rather than a promotion. Fragmented pricing means a firm ends up making a commercial decision about whether to use a compliance feature, which is a bad position to put anyone in.
This is the real difference, and it is the reason the product exists.
Most tools let you build a price list. Power Pricing is built around a pricing method: revenue bands so a larger client carries a larger fee for the risk you take on, scope questions inside each service, a minimum fee floor that cannot be undercut by accident, alignment fees for clients who join mid-year, and a calibration step that starts you from what you already charge rather than from a blank page.
You can read the thinking behind all of that in the articles. It is the same method I teach, built into software.
The moment a client signs, the onboarding questionnaire opens in front of them, while they are still at their desk. AML risk assessment, ID verification and the client questionnaire are part of the same flow rather than three separate jobs you start on Monday.
I am a practising accountant. I use this in my own firm. When something is wrong, the person who fixes it is the person who built it, and there is a Facebook community where features get argued about openly.
That is not a claim about anybody else's support. It is simply what small and founder-led buys you, and it is the thing most often mentioned by firms who miss how GoProposal used to feel.
Worth saying plainly, because a comparison page that finds no merit in the alternative is not worth reading.
In almost every conversation I have with a firm that likes the look of this and has not moved, it comes down to the same sentence: I have put hours into my pricing setup and I cannot face doing it all again.
That is a completely reasonable objection. Rebuilding line items, price breaks and questions is a proper job, and it is the reason the move stays on the someday list.
So we do it for you. You send three exports, which takes about ten minutes of clicking, and you get back a reconciliation showing every line item and exactly where it has gone, priced to match what you charge today. Nothing changes in your account until you have approved it.
More about how switching works.
You will notice this page does not quote GoProposal's fees. That is deliberate. Their pricing is theirs to change, and a comparison page carrying a competitor's price is out of date the moment they update it, which makes it misleading rather than useful.
Ours is on the pricing page, in full, with no add-ons. Theirs is on their site. Compare them yourself, and compare what is included as well as the number.
The same honest treatment of Ignition and Socket, and how switching actually works if the rebuild is what has been stopping you.
