Price it live

I once lost a client paying us around £10,000 a year, a week or two after we had helped him save his business. We spent weeks getting him invoice finance, then sent a bill of about £6,000 worked out from our timesheets. The work was never the problem. The surprise was.

This is an hour, recorded live with a room of accountants, on doing it the other way round: agreeing the fee before you start, and giving it to the client yourself. From about half an hour in, a client is priced live in Power Pricing, so you see the thinking and the numbers together.

  • Why the price belongs at the start of the job, agreed with the client, rather than worked out afterwards from a timesheet you then write down
  • Pricing what drives the work: scope, complexity, risk, and how the client wants to work with you
  • Asking for the fee when the client is most motivated, so the extras stop being done for free
  • Giving three options, and why most clients choose the one in the middle
  • Giving the price live on the call, then staying quiet until the client speaks first

Afterwards we will send you the occasional article on pricing your services. Unsubscribe whenever you like, in one click.
